Data normalization can be a challenging task for multi-cloud tools, as billing data from different service providers varies and changes. However, Nuvola Analytics knows how to resolve this problem through normalized data. The answer is yes, moreover, gaps can be fulfilled without big efforts. Virtual tags are a great tool that enriches customer data and opens additional horizons for data exploration. Add more analytical dimensions, more attributes, more possibilities for data exploration without managing tags within your CSP infrastructure, no more dependency on release cycle or DevOps engineers to tag resources or correct errors. FinOps teams can take tagging in their own hands. Nuvola Analytics supports account and resource level tags. One of the favorite dimensions of our clients is resource and project OWNERS tracking, which is possible and actionable with the use of virtual tags.

Each team should know which resources it owns and how they can be optimised. Nuvola Analytic’s Optimizer is not just a list of recommendations for underutilized resources. You can easily find ineffectively used resources within your team, project, environment or any other level. Even more details about resources can be explored in Cost Analysis section (BI-style advanced reporting).

Nuvola Analytics has virtual tags feature that allows customers avoid tagging of each and every resource in different consoles/portals. No need to distract engineers to ask them to improve tagging. Tagging is a great tool for cost allocation, however, following tagging standards and managing all tags can be a challenge. Use Nuvola Analytics’ virtual tags instead to fulfill the gaps in tagging. No coding skills required.

Alerting service that uses predictive analytics and AI will be tracking different anomalies. This service is flexible and the users can customize different types of alerts. At the same time, Nuvola Analytics does not send endless amounts of notifications that can distract users from important tasks, that is why the user has an opportunity to create the alerts that are important indeed or send a request to Nuvola Analytics team with the list of necessary alerts. Alerts can be sent in advance or at the time the anomaly takes place, alert configuration is flexible.

Budget Management is also integrated with alerts. So, our users are informed in advance if budget limits are about to be crossed. The great thing is that alerts can be configured differently: it is possible to fill in a particular sum that should not be exceeded, the share of costs or budget, percentage of costs to budget or vice versa, average costs or budget, etc. Our users can customize alerts that compare different time periods. Additionally, our users choose when they want to be informed about the problem (days, weeks or months before or exactly at the moment the budgets are exceeded).

Alerting service in Nuvola Analytics is very powerful and flexible. Any measure in Nuvola Analytics (not only Cost and Budget) can be used for alert configuration. On top of that, our users can even compare measures for the different periods and receive alerts about anomalies.

For example, you might want to know whether the usage amount of a particular service for the current month is about to exceed the usage amount for the previous month.

Alerts in Nuvola Analytics use Predictive Analytics and AI and they are highly customizable. Alerts can be received in advance before the undesirable event takes place (date frame can be any, the client chooses it) or at the moment the anomaly happens.

No engineering skills for alert customization are required. We provide a clear interface to our users with predefined options. Customization is necessary for the system to understand what kind of anomaly our client is trying to identify. The rest will be done by Nuvola Analytics’ predictive analytics and AI algorithms and the customer will receive an alert per email, so there is no need to log into the platform to see the updates. Alert configuration is also important because Nuvola Analytics avoids overloading the customer with the huge amount of notifications that might not be valuable for our users.
